MAY 2026

Good evening Rotary Members and Friends,

As we move into the second week of May, I want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you. Our Summer Fun Raffle officially wrapped up, and together we raised $1,160.00 to support the work of our club here in Clarke County.

Every ticket sold, every share on Facebook, and every word-of-mouth recommendation made this possible — and it's a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish when we pull in the same direction.

A huge congratulations to our very own Rotarian English Koontz, who was drawn as the winner of the raffle! What a fun outcome, and how fitting that one of our own ended up with the lucky ticket. Congratulations, English! 🎉

Please join us this Wednesday, May 13, at 12:00 PM at the Church for our regular meeting, with a board meeting to follow.

We don't have a speaker scheduled this week, which gives us a wonderful opportunity to spend time together going over upcoming events and brainstorming as a group. With the Summer Fun Raffle behind us, I'd love to hear your ideas for what we should raffle off next. Come ready to share suggestions — whether it's a themed basket, an experience, a getaway, or something completely different. Some of our best ideas come from these open conversations.

Please make a note of these upcoming events:

May 13 (this Wednesday): Regular Meeting and Board Meeting at the Church, 12:00 PM

May 27: Senior Center BBQ at the Rotary Pavilion.

June 13: Our Annual Pickleball Event. Please reach out to Gerald if you're interested in sponsoring or volunteering.

July 3: Honor Flag Display. Please contact Dale for information on flag sponsorship and volunteering.

Online promotion for these events will continue on our Facebook page, so be sure you're following along: www.facebook.com/clarkecountyvarotaryclub

Thank you all for everything you do — for your service, your generosity, and the time you give to make Clarke County a stronger community. I look forward to seeing many of you Wednesday at the Church!

Warmly,
Robin

Donation Request:

Clarke County Senior Center Snack Items

The Clarke County Senior Center is in need of donations of snack items for their seniors.  I thought this would be an excellent cause for our club to support.  If any members would like to donate to the seniors, please bring items to either our May 13th meeting or the bbq at the park on 5/27.  We can present Erica with the items at the bbq.  Thanks so much for your consideration of a donation for this worthwhile cause.  Below is a list of suggestions of snack items the seniors enjoy:

Pretzels

Nutri grain Bars

Fig Newtons

Ginger Snaps

Animal Crackers

Muffins

Peanut Butter Crackers

Fruit Cups

Goldfish

Wheat Thins

Oatmeal Cookies

They can use prepacked or they can plate them.

Thanks again,

Lisa Cooke
